I wrote a blog about my skin almost 2 weeks ago and it’s still sitting in my drafts. Why???? Because I really didn’t want to take pictures of myself without makeup on and post them for everyone to see. Which got me thinking… My skin still has far more bad days than good... despite being an esthetician, cutting out dairy, taking probiotics, using different skincare, using no skincare, changing my pillowcases, cleaning my phone screen, not squeezing or picking... sometimes it just looks like shit, AND THAT IS OKAY. It's so okay. It doesn't matter and I'm not going to continue to let it get me down. I’m not going to focus on one thing I don’t like about myself and let it consume me. I’m lucky enough to interact with and get to know a lot of women on a daily basis, so I know that many of you are struggling with similar self-esteem issues. Here’s the thing- I love my clients more than anything in the world. I see so much unique & unbelievable beauty in each and every one of you. And I’ve chosen to devote my life to trying to open your eyes to it. I know what it’s like to obsess over your “flaws” and let them define you, but we all need to stop. I really hope you can all start giving yourselves the love you deserve. I hope you look in the mirror and see past your outer shell and acknowledge the beautiful beam of light that you are. I hope you focus your thoughts and energy on your strengths, give yourself credit for all of the amazing things you've accomplished, treat your body with respect and give yourself an ABUNDANCE of kindness, forgiveness and patience. I hope that whatever you're going through, you know how incredibly talented, brave and capable you really are. Your fears, doubts and insecurities point to the areas of your life that need the most healing and love- use them to guide you. Listen to them and befriend them. Try to accept everything that's happening to you in order to feel at peace with yourself and your life. Understand that you are exactly where you need to be, and that worry and anxiety causes you unnecessary suffering. Take a deep breath and choose LOVE. Until it becomes second nature for you.
